Jetstream enables software companies and enterprises to add distributed RFID capabilities quickly through simple programming interfaces.

April 3, 2013 Madison, WI – Terso Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of automated inventory management solutions for healthcare and life science, today announced the release of their Jetstream® Cloud RFID Platform. Jetstream enables independent software companies and enterprises to add distributed RFID technologies quickly through simple programming interfaces.

Many RFID software companies provide closed loop systems forcing you into processes, functionality, and workflows that won’t match what your business does or needs. Jetstream is different. It was built from the ground up to allow any application to easily integrate RFID into its processes, not the other way around.

For most applications, adding RFID is as easy as adding a device using simple commands and processing RFID events. While most applications simply process inventory events, some applications will require more control. For those applications, Jetstream offers advanced features for device management, device monitoring and sensor monitoring.

“Jetstream is a perfect fit for anyone looking to add RFID to their existing applications quickly and easily,” said Mark Sehmer, Software Product Manager, Terso Solutions, Inc. “Working in the industry over the last thirteen years, we know that many traditional RFID projects never make it past pilot, simply because of the initial development complexity and cost.”

Developers and engineers will be exited to know that Jetstream offers a full featured open ReSTful application programming interface (API) and event publishing service for integration. Additional development tools including software development kit (SDK), open source reference application, Jetstream administration console (JAC), and a device simulator are also available to simplify and expedite development on Jetstream.

“Terso Solutions was built on our ability to manage field inventory stored in remote locations world-wide,” said Joe Pleshek, President and CEO, Terso Solutions, Inc. “We’ve incorporated all that we have learned in managing more than 1,200 distributed RFID devices across the globe into the Jetstream Cloud RFID framework. “

Terso has been actively developing applications on the Jetstream platform, and is working to add Jetstream agents to additional third party devices in 2013. The Jetstream Cloud RFID platform is available beginning in April 2013.
